Physical layer management

and environment parameters monitoring

AIM (Automated Infrastructure Management) is a solution that makes available functions for presenting, managing, analysing, and planning cabling in distribution cabinets, server rooms, as well as in entire facilities, even as big as a DATA CENTER.

These systems improve operational effectiveness and facilitate current passive infrastructure management. They automatically discover plugging in and unplugging of a crossover cable, they also document cabling infrastructure, as well as connected devices. This allows current and smooth management and exchange of data with such external systems like: Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM), Building Management (BMS), IT Services Management (ITSM), Asset Lifecycle, Safety Management Systems (SMS) and other platforms.
The ALANTEC brand AIM solution is based on the

RFID (Radio-frequency identyfication)
technology that uses radio waives to transfer data and power an electronic system constituting an object tag by a reader, to identify the object. The technology enables the RFID system reading and saving.
The AIM system and monitoring and management processes, which they serve, are described in the IS0/IEC and EN norms:
  • PN-ISO/IEC 20000-1:2014-01 - Information Technology
    - Services management / Part 1: Services Mangement System Requirements
  • Series of norms PN-EN 50600-x-y - Information Technology
    - Equipment and infrastructure of data processing centers
  • PN-ISO/IEC 27000:2014-11 - Information Technology
    - Safety technology - Information safety management systems
1   Patch cords cables that enable: identification of every piece due to RFID, storing such data as: type, length, colour measurement values, etc.
2   Intelligent Patch panels - copper and fiber version - equipped with sensors (RFID readers) that allow to: monitor position of a patch cords cable, read-out of data assigned to a given cable and facilitates service works due to diodes and displays.
3   RCU analyser (cabinet controller) connected to all panel sensor stripes with the use of Daisy-Chain cables. It reads data from the stripes and provides server with all data concerning current connections statuses. RCU is prepared as an open interface for companies that specialize in management software.
4   AT+C management and visualization software.

The Alantec management and visualization system use AT+C VisiRack software. However, this is not the only platform that can operate with the RFID system. RCU (cabinet controller) that we offer can cooperate with software provided by the following companies: FNT Software, Zetema and PatchManager.

Software basic functionalities

Detection of change: every change, moving or adding a connection is detected and signalled in the RCU controller, as well as in the VisiRack application. The changes can have signatures of unauthorized or authorized.
Registration: all activities are registered in a real time. Unauthorized changes to connections can be examined and confirmed by an administrator if they are found to be correct. Where an unauthorized change occur, the software automatically moves to the change planning mode.
View and the products librarystrong>: the software uses the CAD type blocks of programs, so it allows the teletechnical cabinets to be fully visualized. Moreover, the software possesses a broad database of the implemented products from providers of active elements. Adding new elements to a cabinet takes place on the basis of a drag and drop principle.
